Help With Protecting a Baby?

Question by : help with protecting a baby?
TN, Nashville to be exact. Me and my boyfriend have been rasing his now 22 month old son for the past 15 months, I guess I need to start at the beginning so u may fully understand the situation. Me and my boyfriend have been together for 3 years, I am a recovering drug addict, a liltle over 2 years clean. We didnt’ know the mother was pregnant, we didnt know the baby exsisted untill he was 4 months old. The mother of the child has a server drug problem and was a friend of mine when i was struggling with my own addiction. She had the baby in jail, and her sister came and got the baby from the hospital. We at this point stil didnt know the child exsisted. The sister pulled some strings and got the mom in a rehab where she could have the baby with her, this is when my boyfriend was notified about the baby. From the first day we knew of the child he has supported him. Every visitation day he was there, bought all the diapers, clothes, formula ect that the baby needed while they were in the rehab. When it was time for them to leave the rehab I agreed for the mom and baby to come live with me and my boyfriend. Since they had nowhere to go and the mom claimed the baby was my boyfriends i thought it was the right thing to do. For a month and a half everything went good, but one day the mom dissapeared, she was on probation from a charge from a few years ago, thats why she was in jail when she had the baby, and from what she said when we found her the pressure of being on probation and being a mom was too much, so for the next 2 months she was on the streets using drugs and being a prostitute to get money, she never called to see how the baby was, never came to see him.

I Was Just, Terminated From My Job, Because of False Accusations of Drug Use?

Question by : I was just, terminated from my job, because of false accusations of drug use?
I was hired by a security company, and they transferred me to Nashville Tennessee, after being there three days, I was confronted by a manager who said, ” We, have a few guys who say that you may have a drug problem.” He went on to tell me that I was fired and was going to be sent home. I have put a lot of hard-work and effort into this job, and to be fired because of hearsay, is rather disappointing. I asked around the office, and was given the name of a person who, according to my manager, I “solicited for ecstasy.” He said that it was an untrue statement. I do not do drugs and I’m just wondering what I should do to remedy this. A few of the other guys I recently worked with said I should sue. What do you think?
They also wouldn’t accommodate me with a simple drug test… which I would have passed.

Do They Drug Test Newborns in Tennessee?

Question by x3_love_lost_dreams: Do they drug test newborns in tennessee?
My friend is due any time now. She has been using morphine through out her pregnancy…nothing heavy. She quit using 2 or 3 weeks ago. She is concerned that when she goes in to the hospital for delivery that they will drug test the baby. We live in tennessee. We have done some research on internet an most of the things we found say they only drug test if they suspect or something is wrong with the baby. Does any one know if it is mandatory to drug test every newborn.

Squeaky doors get oiled, in other words go to your local human resource office, hospital, health dept.,etc.. and express your true desires to cure your addictions. There are many resources. I have kicked heroin and many other addictive drugs and I didn’t need inpatient therapy. A good resource is Narcotic Anonymous. For me I wanted out and went on a Methadone detox program(NOT Maintenance).
The best recipe for recovery is desire coupled with support.
Good Luck and I hope it works out for you.
