What Drug Is Used to Treat Oxycontin Addiction Recovery?
Question by zigzagg11: What drug is used to treat oxycontin addiction recovery?
Best answer:
Answer by stascia
depends on how bad the addiction is.
if the addiction was very severe, some places are using methadone treatment, which is normally reserved for heroin addicts (but since heroin and oxycontin are both opiates it works as well). methadone treatment involves going to a clinic everyday and getting a dose of methadone, which is an opiate itself. it is a lighter, less addictive opiate and gives a person a ‘buzz’ just like any other opiate. however, the dose of methadone, over time, is decreased, and the addict gets less and less of the drug. this type of treatment cuts down on all the crappy side effects of opiate withdrawal, such as DTs, hallucinations, auditory disturbances and etc.

Should We Start a Foundation or Charity?
Question by Ali: Should we start a foundation or charity?
Last October my mom passed away from having a drug addiction to prescriptions. So my friend came up with this idea that we start a foundation for my mom, and to help other addicts. Also, to help save lives, and help others not loose their loved ones like I did.
But as I started researching I kind of got confused on what exactly a foundation and what exactly a charity is.. so could someone explain it better to me please?

How to Speak to Younger Sister About Alcohol Abuse and Life?
Question by CuriousKitty: How to speak to younger sister about alcohol abuse and life?
I am concerned about my younger sister, and I will attempt to give you as much detail in as possible without writing a novel.
I’m 26, live on East Coast. Younger sister, 22, lives 2000 miles away, with her fiance, 36, their 10 month old son, and our mom. Sister and mom have been out there about 5 years now, going to school, trying to live their lives, I guess. Fiance has full time job, Mom is finally pursuing the degree she always wanted to get; sister is 1.5 semesters away from a Bachelor’s in anthropology, which the highest degree anyone in our immediate family has achieved. I’m so proud of her, and I want nothing more for her to finish, and ideally, move back east.
